RING-TAILED MONGOOSE
- Origin: Endemic to Madagascar.
- Habitat: Primarily inhabits the island’s humid tropical forests.
- Physical Characteristics: Small mongoose with a reddish-brown coat and a distinctively ringed tail of black and white bands.
- Lifespan: Up to 10 years in captivity.
- Reproduction: The female gives birth to one or two young after a gestation of about 90 days.
- Interesting Fact: Galidia elegans is very agile and playful, often seen hunting and playing with its prey before eating it.
